2006 Topps Turkey Red Baseball cards
Released in September of 2006, The Topps Turkey Red set for this year continues where the popular 2005 Turkey Red set left off, and continues in the tradition and style of the original Turkey Red "Cabinet" cards from the early 1900's.
The Topps Turkey Red set has a bit of everything that baseball collectors are looking for. This years set boasts a great autograph list, including exclusives Barry Bonds, Alex "A-Rod" Rodriguez, and David Wright), and 40 rookie cards.
Aside from just the base set, of course 2006 Topps Turkey Red also features a nice selection of collectable parallel cards, unique Relics and Game Used cards, rookie cards and top prospects, Cabinet cards, and B-18 Blankets and of course Short Prints and variations. The Turkey Red baseball sets are considered "Living" sets, and it is the only one of it's kind in so far in Topps history. As I said earlier, the 2006 set continues where 2005 left off, literally. The 2006 Topps Turkey Red baseball set features cards 316-630, whereas the 2005 set ended at card #315.
The set features 15 Variations, as well as parallels include that include Gold, Black, White and Red versions, as well as "Suede" versions, which are unique 1/1 cards. There are 23 sequentially numbered autographs such as Alex Rodriguez, David Wright, Ryan Howard and more. The autographs can also be found in parallel versions.
50 relic cards can be found that feature the major stars of 2006 such as Albert Pujols, Barry Bonds, Ichiro Suzuki and more. The Hobby boxes contain "Box Loaders" and Cabinet Cards that are the same size as the original Turkey Red cards. Autographed Cabinet Cards, Dual Autographed Cabinet Cards, Original Cabinet Cards, B-18 Blankets and Original B-18 Blankets are also randomly inserted.
